About Mrs. Amy Randall
Personal Life
I live in Chesterfield with my husband, Rich. We just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary on August 2nd! He is an Operations Manager at Markem-Imaje in Keene. We are proudly raising three spectacular kids; Richie, KHS Junior (I can't even believe that!), Thomas, KHS Freshman, and Emma, grade 7. Their individual personalities are the heart of the Randall family. We enjoy family time watching movies at home and at the drive-ins, going camping, hiking, biking, traveling, kayaking, golfing, and going on adventures, like living in England for a year! We also have a nineteen year old black cat named Maggie, who is the real queen of the house!
Professional Life
I attended the University of New Hampshire, where I studied Biology for my first two years of college. After reassessing my education and my plans for my future, I decided to follow my heart and study to become a teacher. I attended Fitchburg State College and received a B.S. in Elementary Education with a double major in History in 1996. I taught in the Winchendon Public School district for several years as a Title I teacher and a classroom teacher of grades 1-3.
While teaching in Winchendon, I received my Masters of Education, in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University in 2000. This is a fancy term for arts integration and also what we know refer to as Multiple Intelligences and Differentiation. After a few years off to raise my children, I restarted my career at Chesterfield School. I worked as a Paraprofessional in the Title I department for the three years and have spent the last two years teaching Middle School Science.
I am a dedicated 11 year participant in the Destination Imagination program. I have volunteered as a team manager for many years and in 2010 and 2011 served as the Chesterfield Destination Imagination Coordinator. I have even journeyed to Global Finals in Knoxville, TN, THREE TIMES! I am also a member of the school’s Leadership Team. I am a lifelong learner with training in Responsive Classroom and Developmental Design techniques and many workshops about Differentiation, Response to Instruction (RtI), Cultural RtI, Language Arts, and Science Literacy.
